Linda Cohn and Coach G.

ESPN Update w/ Linda Cohn:

Linda Cohn: Good afternoon coach...

Coach G: ...Linda, please call me Al...(wink, wink)

LC: (smiles) okay, Al. I have to ask this question....'Will ISU be the final stop in this week long college tour for coaching vacancies?"

CG:HAHAHA, no doubt...let me explain something, my lolo (that's grandfather for coach pineda) once told me that sometimes in order to find yourself, you've got to lose yourself. And i never knew what that meant until this past week. Iowa State allowed me to find myself and i can honestly say that i will give them everything that i have.

LC: What really happened in Hawaii b/c you were groomed by June Jones to take over the Hawaii program?

CG: (snickers)...*cough*....excuse me. Yes, well, i learned a lot from Coach Jones but there were just some things that i felt i didn't have to experience in order to learn. And i'd like to go on record that i never started those rumors about the Rainbow Warriors....i think this pic speaks for itself...

Don Ho and Elvis---two of most famous Rainbow Warrior alumns

LC: Wow!! That does speak volumes.

CG: Imagine my surprise.

LC: Finally, what's your take on Coach Bigs latest announcement about going to Arkansas to run that program?

CG: I didn't even know that Arkansas State had a football program but i wish Bigs nothing but the best, we've cross paths before back in 2003-2004, that was then and i'm sure he's a different coach now. What it really comes down to is this,...I said it last night to Coach T and i'll say it again. The only team that i'm really worried about is UNLV, Coach Molina and I have some unfinished business and i'm glad that we have to opportunity to settle it. I think everyone one in this league has something to prove. I still feel that the championship will have to go through us.

LC: That's quite a bold statement, don't you think?

CG: Hey, someone has to win. Why not not us? So, let's get this season started b/c i've got something for each one of these guys.....
