The Road To The Battle for No. 1

At midfield, Coach Bigs and G shared warm greetings after a 4 year hiatus while the teams ran through their pre-game warm-ups during last night's much anticipated and talked about game between the ASU Indians and ISU Cyclones.

Bigs commented before that game, '...this is a must win, going w/o a win this season would be very to hard to live w/ and my kids have been looking forward to playing against one of the top teams in this league..' When asked about the pending investigation about the alleged sandbagging incident by Coach G, Bigs had this to say, '...i've had the privilege to play in another NCAA league w/ coach Mo and G and i just can't see either of them doing something like that....'

The game turned out to be a smash mouth, grind-in-out, boys need not apply, type of football game. ISU scored the first TD in the 1st quarter and were marching down the field again looking to put a strangle-hold on the game but ASU defense tightened up and was able to disrupt an option play and force a fumble but were only able to convert the TO into 3pts. Iowa went into the locker room w/ a 10 - 3 lead,

Bigs: We're still in it. We just have to do a better job at stopping the run and making take advantage of any TO's and we'll be fine.
G: Their defense was solid so, we'll have to make some adjustments and hopefully we can execute on the field.

The second half was not much different from the first half, both teams exchanged blows and although Arkansas was able to keep Iowa out of the end zone, the Arkansas offense struggled against the much improved secondary of Iowa. Iowa's offense had been a potent weapon for this season but their defense came up big in this game. The final score Arkansas 3 - Iowa 16

Bigs: Playoffs!? Playoffs!? We couldn't even win a game and you dare ask me about PLAYOFFS!?? I knew some of you guys couldn't write but at least you should be able to do math. We'll see you guys next year, no more questions.
G: They hung in there tough and like i said before, their defense was solid throughout the game. Our offense wasn't there but i'm glad that the defense and special teams stepped up get this win. As you can see, you can't be one dimensional in this league.

After the game, Coach G received a call from Haw Coach....'yo, man...why didn't you run up the score like you did against us? SANDBAGGER!!! If i were you i'd lose my next game so you don't have to face me in the first round of the playoffs!!!

Coach G responded by shutting off his xbox.
